Ladies Auxiliary

The Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 6731, proudly supports our Veterans of Foreign Wars in many aspects.

2003-2004

Ladies Auxiliary Presidents.

Letter from the Past Ladies Auxiliary President 2003-2004
Dear Sisters,
You put your trust in me to be President and I promise to do my duties to the best of my ability. Everyone has been so helpful, getting this year off to a good start and have been working together toward a common goal, "A SUCCESSFUL YEAR". Thanks to all the Officers and Committee chairmen for accepting their responsibilities and getting the job done. We have a lot of projects planned for this year and I am looking forward to working with everyone to get them completed. I'm always open o suggestions for ways to help our Veterans, youth and our communities. All ideas will be considered and much appreciated.

Thanks again,

Betty Morgan
Auxiliary President

Some of the Programs the Ladies Auxiliary support and take part in.

  • CANCER AID & RESEARCH: This Auxiliary works to raise funds to help the Cancer program. Cancer Grants are available and any member is eligible to apply. Applications can be obtained from our Cancer Chairman or request a grant at www.ladiesauxvfw.com

  • HOSPITAL & VETERANS AFFAIRS VOLUNTARY SERVICE: Volunteers are always needed in our VA Hospital at Biloxi. Volunteers assist with tasks that improve patients quality of life by providing necessities, such as personal hygiene items, donated craft kits, and entertainment items such as puzzles, books and cards. They can also volunteer to write letters, red to them and shop for our Veterans. Each month, usually the third Wednesday, VAVS Chairman give a Birthday party for the nursing home patients. Each month on the second Sunday this VFW Post 6731 and Auxiliary hosts a bingo with Canteen Books as prizes and serves donuts and coffee to the patients.
  • wa;lers.jpg (16102 bytes) Items recently donated by the Ladies Auxiliary 6731, to help our Veterans.

If you have items to donate please email info@vfw6731.org and let us know, we will arrange for pick up.

MS FIREFIGHTERS BURN CENTER: Many people have been treated at the MS Burn Center, not only from MS but from other states as well. It is a great facility and well worth our support. This Auxiliary has a table set up in the Bingo hall for this cause. Members donate items such as knick knacks, dishes, toys, small appliances, and anything that we think will sell to raise funds for the burn Centers. Anyone wishing to donate items for this cause please call the post 228-392-1152

  • VFW NATIONAL HOME: The VFW National Home was established in 1925 and the VFW and Ladies Auxiliary support such a home for children. This Auxiliary saves Campbell's Soup Labels for the Education program, and we ask that community help in this effort. More information can be found on the website   www.labelsforeducation.com/aligibleprodelelgivle.asp

  • YOUTH ACTIVATES & VOICE OF DEMOCRACY: VFW Post 6731 and the Ladies Auxiliary sponsor youth activities in our local communities each year; Soccer, basketball, football, baseball and any other worthy activity. Other programs for youth are the Voice of Dmocracy ( VOD) and Patriot's pen Youth Essay contests. WE also have the Young American Creative Patriotic art contest. The VOD and Patriots Pen, are VFW programs but the Ladies Auxiliary have always participated in the these programs. The Patriotic Art Contest is strictly Auxiliary contest. This will be the first year that we have participated in this contest and we are looking for a good response from our schools. For more information on these go to website www.vfw.org

  • OPERATION UPLINK: These are long distance phone cards, courtesy of the VFW & Ladies Auxiliary, given to Military personnel serving overseas, veterans in local hospitals or Veterans homes & troops on active duty at military installations. This is a national program supported by our post members.

To help the Ladies Auxiliary with any of these wonderful programs you can make a donation to a specific program or to the general programs fund. Please email  info@vfw6731.org  with the subject,
